Sustainability
A better tomorrow
At E³.SPACE, wood is a material that made up a big portion of our built-in furniture and is a valuable resources.
We fabricate built-in furniture from nature's renewable resources. We promote sustainability by using wood-based materials supply by manufacturer that put sustainable use of wood as their top priority and we contribute our part by keeping our production factory abide to the global standard for corporate environmental management with ISO14001. By making sustainability even stronger in our products, we aim to generate a positive impact for the society and the environment. |
EGGER is a steadily growing, global family company founded in 1961 with headquarters in St.Johann, Tyrol, Austria. As a full-range supplier of solid wood and wood-based materials, they create "More from wood" everyday with 10,100 employees around the world. They are represented in 20 plants worldwide and 26 sales offices around the world.
Sustainable use of raw materials is a top priority to EGGER. They achieve this by procurement of wood from sustainable forestry, recycling, generating energy in their own biomass power plants to most up to date sustainable processing technology. We import the Eurodekor MFC / MFF (wood-based materials) supplied by EGGER and turn them to E³.SPACE built-in furniture. |
The EGGER timber purchasing guidelines stipulate: " In additional to the measure they taken to protect the environment, it is the matter of course for EGGER to comply with national and European laws, in particular the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR), when it comes to the sustainable procurement of wood. At EGGER, they have zero-tolerance policy when it comes to illegal logging. The support the fight against illegal logging within the scope of their possibilities since sustainable forestry is in their own best interest.
In addition to the legal regulation in each country of purchase and production, due diligence system is guided by the relevant standards for sustainable forest management below. |

CO2 form part of the greenhouse gases which contribute to the global warming.
|
This is generated at several stages along the wood utilisation chain. The production of wood-based materials create greenhouse gases, as does the natural decomposition and degradation of unused wood. When wood is burn, CO2 is released, but CO2 would remain locked if the wood was used to make materials and products.
EGGER optimised the use of wood. The wood in their products lock 5.3 million tonnes of CO2 every year. This equate to emissions of 3.2 million of Singapore citizens. EGGER also use recycled wood in the production of chipboard, thereby locking 1.73 miliion tonnes if CO2 per year. Wood that is not suitable for upgrading is transformed into green electricity and heat for their production, eliminating another 1,487,001 tonnes of CO2 from the environment as compare to energy generation using natural gas. |
EGGER ensures that recycled materials are only purchased from a qualified disposal specialist. Suitable recycled wood is processed and used for chipboard production. Where recycling is no longer possible, EGGER turns the products and residue accumulated at the sites into energy to produce heat and green electricity.
EGGER processes recycled wood from furniture, pallets, wood packaging and suitable parts of construction and demolition timber. Recycling companies separates contaminated wood during collection. The material is again visually inspected in the plant, freed from contaminants such as metal, sand and plastic, and is then processed into clean woodchip in several steps. |
Up to 30% of the wood used for Eurodekor MFC come from recycling material.
|
A convincing price / performance ration is indispensable, but not good enough. In order to provide consumer with the best information, EGGER not only disclose technical and aesthetic properties, but also products descriptions, test reports and ingredients.
|
Information on environmental and health aspects is readily available - thanks to " fully declared" EGGER products. In order to live up to these expectation, EGGER offer the EPD.
EPD stands for Environmental Product Declaration. In this document , EGGER present all environmentally relevant information concerning a given material, including a verified environmental performance assessment. After all, not only is the energy used and the environment affected when these building materials are used, but when they are manufactured, too. EGGER was Europe's first wood-based materials manufacturer to disclose the environmental performance of its wood-based materials in independently verified EPDs. Beside the EPDs, EGGER also provide the sustainability report that feature transparent reporting on the subject of sustainability. |

Ours in-house production is certified with ISO 14001, this is the global standard for corporate environment management. The certified environmental management system monitors compliance with legislation and helps diminish or avoid negative corporate environmental effects. And environmental management system includes a corporate environmental objective and environmental programme.
The basic of the ISO 14001 is a PDAC (Plan-Do-Check-Act). Measures are planned, executed, controlled and checked systematically. The basic of inspection and environment aspect, legal compliance, environmental risk and the entire system, which flow back into the new environmental objectives and programme, system inspection - the environmental audit - take place at regular intervals, performed by independent inspector. The auditors provide valuable input for the further development of our environmental management. |
